Hi 👋

I’ve been prescribed this to take as the progesterone part of HRT and everol patches. Does anyone have any experience with this pill or this combination?

thank you ☺️

I started taking Slynd a week ago but have oestrogen gel instead. All fine so far

Newgirlintoon · 14/06/2025 10:07

Have you had any side effects? I’m on day 4 of taking Slynd and haven’t started the patches yet. Suddenly felt very sick and faint after eating breakfast and needed the toilet immediately. I’ve had to come and lie down as I feel so shaky. Starting to panic a bit!

No side effects so far and fingers crossed it continues. Hope it improves for you.

AnotherNaCha · 17/06/2025 23:28

Yes exact same. I haven’t started taking yet as nervous… I did not respond well last time to the oestrogen component (I think) and have other life stressors that I’m struggling with so worried about it pushing me over the edge!

I’m good now thank you! Not sure what that was? Felt like a mild panic attack but I’ve had no other side effects so far.

I’m on my next packet (skipping the placebo). Still doing ok.

AnotherNaCha · 02/07/2025 22:19

How you doing? Haven’t started mine yet!

Loiste · 03/07/2025 10:29

On it for 12 weeks or so, together with estrogen gel. First period on it was two weeks, but once that stopped only spotting now at the expected time. Has to raise the estrogen a little after a month to feel like myself, now it is just fine. Feel like I used to before peri symptoms

Newgirlintoon · 05/07/2025 08:28

Thank you for taking the time to reply. I’ve just finished the first pack and my period was heavy and painful and accompanied with waves of nausea. I finished a few days ago and I now feel how I used to before my period, irritated, angry etc. Feel a bit all over the place. I’ve yet to start the oestrogen patch so maybe I need to. I just don’t want to throw any more side effects into the mix!

I took it for three months with a 50 patch of oestrogen but it made my hair loss worse (the opposite of what I was hoping for). Google tells me this is because it lowers oestrogen. It was good for my PMS though, because I didn't ovulate. I felt very level and calm.

Loiste · 05/07/2025 14:26

I started estrogen and slynd at same time. Many years ago I tried progesterone only pill (cerazette I think) and it caused huge anxiety, but the combined pill I was on before that was just fine. So I was worried about progesterone and happy I could take estrogen with it - progesterone and estrogen together balances things for me. But of course, synthetic progesterones are all slightly different so some trial and error might be needed. I hope it goes well and you find something that works for you.

Hi can I ask can a gp prescribe this as part of hrt? Or are you under a private consultant.

Yes it was a private consultation.

But after bleeding every day on it for over two months they’ve switched me to Utrogestan.
