Perimenopause when on the pill

Have you still experienced symptoms of peri menpause when on the pill, I have had more irregular bleeding than normal lately which has made me worry as to why but thinking could it be related to that?!

Yes, definitely. I was on the progesterone only pill for a while after being diagnosed with endometriosis and having surgery in my late 30s.

Then in my mid 40s I was getting low oestrogen symptoms (delightful vagina/vulva symptoms, among other things) so went back on the combined pill which I was allowed to take until the age of 50, even though there was a risk that endometriosis would kick off again. It didn't, and I felt much better for having the oestrogen.

More recently I've stopped taking that to have a pause and see if my periods have naturally stopped. They seem to have, nothing for six months. And oddly, the low oestrogen symptoms have not returned and I actually feel pretty good.

Any irregular bleeding or change like that it's best to get yourself checked out by the GP.
