I'm 52, probably been peri menopausal for about 6 years it felt like the boiling frog analogy the symptoms literally crept up on me.
2 years ago I starred HRT, I felt completely broken physically and mentally. It's taken a year roughly to settle my HRT dose I'm on 75mg everol patch with 100mg utrogeston daily. Estradiol twice a week for vaginal atrophy this was a shock but sorted quickly thankfully. I got a full blood panel and I was anemic so got that fixed.
My physical aches, hot flushes, plantar fasciitis and tinnitus went pretty quickly.

It's taken a bit longer for the anxiety and deep depression to lift. I had a few months of Cbt self refered through the NHS.
It didn't happen over night I've had to battle through some days that were really tough.

I've maxed out my sick leave at work and they all probably think I'm unhinged with my emotional outbursts. Reaching out to my GP was difficult, when you've got to be on the phone at 8am to try and book an appointment.
But just recently I've been waking up without that feeling of impending doom, no anxiety. I've been organising my home, and getting things done. I'm driving again after not being able to. I'm a top performer at work.

I just wanted to share this because a few years ago I was a petrified wreck. I feel good most days now but if I have an off day I rest.

I hope this helps someone who felt like I did a few years ago.
