HRT to make skin look younger?

Just read that HRT is really good for your skin. Just wondering if this is true? I’ll be 48 later this year and no real meno symptoms but my usually oily skin has gone really dry and dull, and I can’t seem to use retinol anymore as it just dries my skin out too much

I’m mid 50s and on HRT. Not noticed any change to my skin. If that’s the only thing bothering you you might be better off getting back on the retinol and using Weleda Skin Food as a moisturizer. That’s what I am using with my retinol.

You can't be prescribed HRT for your skin.
If you have symptoms and need HRT that's different.
It may have a beneficial effect on skin, yes, as it helps maintain collagen. But your GP won't prescribe it for your skin.

OP, HRT preparations now are a lot safer for you to take (in terms of risk level) but it's always going to be a calculated risk, however small, to start taking a prescribed medication. There has to be a clinical reason to take HRT and frankly, 'dull skin' at age 48 really isn't it!!

Thanks for all the comments, all fair points. I’ll try Weleda skin food. I’m sure as time goes on I’ll likely get more symptoms and will get HRT then if required
