Extra bleed on sequential hrt

I'm 52 and have been on sequential hrt for about 2 years. I have 200 utrogestan for first 14 days and 0.5 Sandrena gel daily. Normally I have a light bleed towards end of utrogestan cycle. I have just had my 2 weeks off utrogestan and about to restart and had a bleed as I went to bed. There was red blood and a small clot as I wiped. I'll arrange doctor on Monday but pretty worried it's something serious. Has anyone experienced similar?

It's probably nothing.
You're on a tiny dose of Sandrena.

Where are you with your own periods prior to HRT?

It's far more likely this is a blip in your own hormones.

It is highly unlikely it's anything serious at all.

The risk with post menopausal bleeds is more for women who are not on HRT.

I can see you're worried about this because you've asked the same thing from another poster from years ago.

I'm relating my own experience- on sequential for over 15 years- with an excellent consultant.

The risk for endometrial cancer is first hyperplasia and as you are such a low dose of estrogen and had a withdrawal bleed recently, it's unlikely you have a serious problem. 99% of bleeds on HRT are because of HRT or your own hormones kicking in.

HRT doesn't always control a natural cycle if you're not post menopause when you start it.

Your GP may send you for a scan but may also suggest waiting to see if this happens again. Please try not to worry.
The risks of cancer are more for women many years post meno who have bleeding when not on HRT.
