Progesterone 100mg Zentiva problem

Anyone else has bleeding with Zentiva? I was on the generic oral version by Exeltis for six months - daily after having mirena removed - no bleeding - but pharmacy gave me Zentiva 100mg progesterone oral last time instead and have had proper bleeding for 3 days, not just spotting, so pretty sure it is not working!
Am going to try to get the exeltis again.
Don’t want Mirena again as it gave me thrush.

Zentiva is the name of the manufacturer, not a brand name.
The drug is micronised progesterone and it's generic.

There are several manufacturers now - I've not heard of Exeltis - but the other (and only one for years) is Besins.

Besins is the only one that is not generic and it's called Utrogestan.

The ingredients are the same - 100mgs micronised progesterone.

If you're not post menopsausal (and under 54) it's more likely to be your own period.

Are you using 100mgs a day?

Thanks - yes am under 54.

I have been on it continuously for 6 months since I had my mirena coil out. Tiny amounts of spotting on occasion but this is the first time I’ve had a period.

i know it is unusual to not respond to one generic over another but same thing happened with my oestrogen gel. Hot flushes and anxiety came back when I got given a different pump but as soon as I got back on the same oestrogel I was fine.
I’ve ordered some of the progesterone that worked so fingers crossed it does the trick…

If you've had a Mirena for years you won't know if you're post menopausal or not.

I'd assume this was your own period.

If it keeps happening, see your GP as you may need to go onto sequential HRT as you're possibly not ready for combined continuous.

Thankyou! Hopefully that won’t happen!

I was given Gepretix for the first 3 months and didn't have any bleeding, but the pharmacy changed me to Zentiva and I've been bleeding several times a month for the last 6 months. I had to buy period knickers from M&S because I never knew when it was going to happen. GP has requested I am given Utrogestan or Gepretix only and has referred me for an ultrasound.
