I'm 40 years old and am on my second month of Evorel patches and oral Utrogestan. towards the end of my first cycle and now my second, I find that I am extremely light headed and dizzy after taking Utrogestan. On some days I find it difficult to stand up and must lie down to avoid collapsing in a heap. I presumed my body needed time to acclimatise, but I'm beginning to think I'm probably intolerant. Will need to wait till Tuesday to ring GP.
Has anyone experienced this or similar? What did you do? Any and all suggestions welcome.

My GP said to take vaginally to reduce effects

I feel a bit like this, but now take it at bedtime just before I go to sleep.

marshmallowfinder · 24/05/2025 21:11

...sorry meant to say that it helps me to sleep and I feel fine when I wake up.

Dizzyintheham · 24/05/2025 21:33

Thank you @wotsitallfor I'll ask if that's a possibility.
@marshmallowfinder I take it about an hour before bed time so I can empty my bladder before sleep but I probably need to delay it as long as possible. Thank you for your response.

Yes I usually take it at night so hadn't noticed, but forgot one night so took it in the morning and had to lie on the floor. It passed after half an hour or so, but make sure I only take it at night now!

JinglingSpringbells · 25/05/2025 08:13

@Dizzyintheham Take it as your head hits the pillow!
Dizziness is known side effect which is why the instructions say take at bedtime.

ForFunGoose · 25/05/2025 08:15

Dont eat for two hours before taking it the side effects can be worse.
