Period gone AWOL, is this the start?

I've always assumed perimenopause is like Labour in that you start off with vague symptoms and you wonder if this is it but then it gets worse and you realise that the vague symptoms you had before were pathetic in comparison.

Anyway, I'm 43, my period is over a week late but I don't really have many other symptoms.

The first sign for me at 44 was my previously regular as clockwork cycle becoming erratic. So yes, it could be.

Following. My past 2 cycles have been 42 days and now I’m in a 19 day one

Had my third pregnancy at 43 ...

Could you be pregnant?

My periods just stopped. Lots of tests but turned out to be menopause.

Dh has had the snip so very unlikely to be pregnant. I am totally on board with longer cycles and periods stopping because my periods are awful but I was expecting to have some fairly horrific symptoms in exchange.

It could be the start - and there is no way of saying how it will affect you given at least 25% of people get no other symptoms

at your age a pregnancy test would be advisable

Lol, don't count on it. Ive gone 3 months without a period (more than once), then two come along in 5 weeks. Keeps me on my toes I suppose! I'm 50, been peri and on HRT for about 2 years.

I'm 47 and things have gone AWOL since December, previously very regular. Thought I was pregnant the first time, four weeks late. Then nothing till a fortnight ago. No other major symptoms but did have a couple of weeks of minor hot flushes in February.

Thank you. Very out of date pregnancy test was negative, have ordered some more online. Just hoping it doesn't come in 4 weeks time as I am away with work and I don't want to deal with flooding etc then.

The in date pregnancy test was negative and then my period turned up 15 days late. So no menopause for me yet but hopefully the start of no more periods.
