Perimenopause - constant bleeding

I’m 54 and still not missed a period. Very regular. But in the past four weeks I’ve had a normal seven day period, followed by a five day break, then a gush of bright red blood. Since then it has been two solid weeks of mild cramps with light bleeding in the morning and spotting in the afternoon.

I take some minimal HRT. 2 squirts of gel plus progesterone every day.

I know that at my age nothing is normal period-wise, but at what stage should I be seeking medical advice about this? I don’t go to the doctor regularly and cba going just to be told that this is exactly what the start of the actual menopause looks like.

I think abnormal/unusual bleeding should always be checked out.

Yes, this is probably right.
