Evorel patches

So I’m late forties started HRT two months ago mostly for muscle/joint pain and lethargy but also night sweats and insomnia. I’ve been prescribed the Evorel patches sequil and conti 50. Within a few days of starting the night sweats and insomnia improve and then in the next few weeks my energy improved. I’m now on my second month currently using the conti patch, this week the night sweats (could be weather related) and insomnia have returned and yesterday I woke up feeling incredibly sad, I was in a lot of pain with joints so put it down to that but at some point during the day dh and I had a row, I saw red and threw a tub of butter across the room in rage. I’ve never done anything like that before. I cried for about 3 hours after. I’ve woken up at 2am and feel like sobbing, I’m guessing it’s the hormone. Should I persevere? Or is it a bad match for me?

Yes keep
going, they say to give it 3 months to settle down. Your hormones will en fluctuation the background.

Thank you I guess I was hoping for an easy fix but I’ll try to persevere and hope it improves.

I think the anger could be down to the evorel patches. I'm 47 and started evorel 50 a couple of weeks ago. Since then i've felt a bit lowish & a bit angrier. I've recognised it is the evorel and up my exercise, yoga and meditation and it seems to have tapered off.

Some women can feel rubbish when on the conti patch as that is the one with progesterone in. Worth making a note which patch you have on when feeling like that.

When I started HRT I could always tell when I was on the conti patch by my lowering mood, but it evened out and settled after a few months.

I had that with the Conti patch - it isn’t body identical progesterone. I managed two cycle of it and thought “fuck this!!” Straight back to the Drs and got swapped on to Evorel and body identical progesterone tablets. Happy days!
