HRT & bloating

Post menopausal, been on HRT for just under two months and suffering some side effects I didn’t expect. I’m so bloated if I was younger people would think I was pregnant (!), constipated as digestion really really slow, full of rage, brain fog..it’s like PMT days and perimenopause together! Anyone else experienced these symptoms and know how to alleviate them, or is this just what being on HRT is like?

Hi, I'm new here. I'm really struggling at the moment and was thinking that I'm pre menopausle? Any advice would be appreciated. I'm 45 years old, over the last 4 years I've but 9 stone on, have no energy, not interested in being intimate which has caused my 8 year relationship to end. Bloated, have trouble with my bowls. Does anyone have any advice? Thanks

@Masmavi I had been on HRT patches for 2 years with mirena coil.3 months ago changed to gel and also started taking progesterone daily.I am now getting really bloated - I'm 52 and was offered a seat on the tube yesterday and was mortified. I'm slimish so it's very noticeable .I'm making a GP appt next week to see if it's the HRT but also to rule out anything else. All other peri menopause symptoms have gone awat with the HRT. Alcohol in any amount makes it really bad so I'm knocking that on the head again.

I find fybogel is really gentle and effective for constipation/sluggish digestion but your GP can advise.

Thanks for replying. My HRT is the combined one, tablets- so is it the progesterone that makes us bloat? I gave up alcohol - apart from very occasionally a glass of wine - a long time ago as it gives me instant headaches these days. Mine isn’t directly related to food but I do feel worse after eating. It’s even affecting my fingers as my rings are tighter! And I just look much bigger than only 6 weeks ago despite eating maybe a third of what I was. I’m also going back to the GP
