so i am 51 haven’t had a period for years due to low body fat, long distance running etc. None of the classic menopause symptoms, no hot flushes, brain fog etc but omg my skin is so dry and whatever i seem to do i just itch! i mean its so bad i itch till i bleed! is this a menopause thing and how do i solve it? am using aveeno which seems to help and antihistamine.

I had terribly itchy skin too during the menopause, my sympathies. I don't really know how to make it better apart from what you're doing:apply moisturiser or olive oil. I had it in my ears and under my arms and my scratching made under my arms and my ears bleed. I couldn't wear deodorant because my skin was red raw, so I had to use cornflour under my arms for a few years.

My ears are still dry and scaly, although my underarms eventually stopped itching as the years went on.

Itching can be a red flag symptom and my GP took it very seriously. Lots of vials of blood taken for every test under the sun. My ferritin was very low and the itching did resolve once I got my levels up.
