Can't wait 6 weeks for an appointment FGS - anyone tried online prescriptions for HRT?

Saw a GP 2 weeks ago with peri symptoms and was advised to have blood test (done and results all ok) but I can't get any type of appointment until June now to start HRT ! GP agreed HRT patches was the best way to go but I stupidly said I'd wait for my blood test results. I'm sick of feeling like shit and really want to press on so just wondered if anyone has used Boots/Superdrug etc to get HRT from. Will provide GP details to them but this isn't something I've done before!

Depends on your age and health history. Even for vaginal Estrogen, which is super weak (a years dose is equivalent to a days dose of oestrogen HRT) Boots etc won’t prescribe unless you’re over 50, due to licensing restrictions.

Forgot to put my age on - 46, no health problems apart from migraines (not prescribed anything for these) so would be looking for patches rather than pills. I'm going to see if anywhere will do this as think some providers (can't remember who) will for under 50's.

Superdrug start at 46 or 47 (can't remember which) I used them no problem. I have a 15% off code, valid until midnight tonight, doesn’t look personalised so give it a try.

Just do an econsult or ask for a phone consultation, even a nurse prescriber will do. You don't need to see a gp.

If you are informed and have read up on it and are sure you want hrt just say you what body identical hrt so oestrogel and utrogestan or patches and you'll book a review in 6 mths. Good luck.

I feel you.

I’ve been trying for 5/6 weeks just to get an initial appt at my surgery. Told there are none, I’m on a waiting list and they’ll ring me when something is available.

Tried online with Boots, but I’m too young. (44)
