On hrt (patches and utrogestan) and still getting irritable bladder symptoms. Can I use vaginal estrogen as well?

I saw a thread recently about vaginal estrogen helping irritable bladder symptoms and wondered whether anyone has used vaginal estrogen alongside patches/gel (and utrogestan)? Would you need to decrease the strength of the patches to avoid over medicating? I am currently on 75mg patches.

Yes you can, and it’s a very low dose and very localised so doesn’t affect the strength of your patches. To give it a try you can buy Gina, which is vaginal estrogen, over the counter.

Speak to your doctor / nurse practitioner.
Yes people do.
Check the menopause board.

Yes you can, and no need to reduce HRT dose.

That’s brilliant- thanks so much all. I will give it a try and hopefully by the time I’ve got an appointment to discuss I will know if it has worked!
