Symptoms are back :(

About 5 years ago, in my late 30s, I started having horrendous PMT and periods. Basically they'd take up 2-3 weeks of the month and I'd have bloating, sweats at night, feel dizzy, brain fog, terrible mood swings.

After several attempts to get the GP to treat it as a hormonal issue rather than a mental health one, and then a trip to a private consultant I got put on progesterone. It turned out I had problems with blood sugar, although a big part of that was that the bloating and other symptoms made me not want to take any exercise and I sat around eating chocolate and drinking wine.

The progesterone initially gave me terrible periods that lasted for ages, but even with that I straight away felt a lot better and felt like I'd gotten myself back.

Since then I've lost getting on for 6 stones, am a healthy BMI, calorie count everything, don't drink for weeks at a time, and am generally a lot healthier.

But over the last couple of weeks the symptoms have returned, and I feel bloated, nauseous, snappy, and have been waking up bathed in sweat, and have brain fog.

The only thing I can think of is that we were away last week and I haven't been religious about taking progesterone at the same time every day.

If it is the timing then how long is it likely to take to settle down?

I had two kids but also had repeated failed IVFs and pregnancy losses which all the symptoms are unpleasant reminders of, I am sitting here feeling a bit teary and heartily wishing my clapped out Lada of a reproductive system would just get in the sea.
