Can us ladies pre menopause assume we will go into menopause around the time our mother's did?
I am just 38 and had hoped to have another child but am conversation with my mum who said she was 46 and went into menopause has me thinking my time is pretty much up I could be peri already.

My younger sister started her periods at 12, I started years later at 17.

She had her last period at 48, I had my last at 54.

Not at all in my case - my mum had an early menopause after her last baby age 40. Mine was around 55.

My mum and my younger sister had quite early menopause, and also problematic. I had mine at the average time to have it and had no problems happily.

Mum had her last period at 55 and I'm now 55 and my periods have only just got properly irregular in the last 18 months (from about 50 I've missed an odd period). Neither of us have had bad menopause symptoms. However my younger sister says she's been having peri symptoms and she's only mid 40s. Will be interesting to see when she finishes, I think now it's talked about so much that you start second guessing everything that happens to you when you get to your mid 40s.
