Cycle lengths during Perimenopause

HappyDaysAreAhead · 15/04/2025 09:33

My cycle lengths have shortened after being fairly regular. I'm late 40s.

Would you be able to share your age and if your cycles have gone shorter, longer, missing etc?

If anyone whose periods has stopped is reading, can you share your experience? I.e. shorter periods for a year followed by missing periods followed by none etc?

I'm trying to gauge how it mostly happens.

I'm 43 and have had a handful of short cycles in the past year or so - 22 days rather than my usual 26/27 days. Definitely heavier too, but don't last as long.

I have a few other symptoms of perimenopause (face flushes, hormonal migraines, weight gain) but generally feel ok.

I've been fairly regular for the last few years although they've been lighter and shorter. I missed Dec/Jan/Feb and have been lightly bleeding ever since. Driving me potty now.

I first had a missed period at 43. My cycle never shortened. I just started missing random periods. Then started missing 2 in a row. I'm 50 now and can go months without a period then get one.

All this thread tells me is that everyone has a completely different experience. 😂

Massively fluctuating… anything between 12 and 119 days in the last 2 years. I’m 49 and really hoping they just stop.

I'm 41 and in the last 6 months I've had a 30/31 day cycle and a 23/24 day cycle. Others have fallen in between the two. I used to be 28 days bang on, almost could predict it to the hour 😂 Since I've turned 40 there have definitely been some changes.

I’m 52 in September, mine have been getting more irregular and it’s now 87 days & counting since my last one.

I’m really hoping this is it, but it also means I’m wary of wearing any light trousers in case I suddenly come on.
