Hi all! I had both my ovaries removed and tubes in August. Oophectomy. All good. Till four weeks ago I had surgery for a benign tumor in my chest.
For the past few weeks I have had groin aches, thigh pain, spotting, hardly sleeping. Shivery. Hot then cold. It’s very uncomfortable.

ct scan 9 weeks ago was fine. Got a smear test on Tuesday.
I know I’m in surgical menopause after ovary operation. I’m 52.
I shouldn’t be bleeding though.
Does this sound hormonal? The doctor said it could be a few things but didn’t seem concerned. She told me to book the smear to rule out anything.

bloods are fine too.
thanks

Insist that your GP refers you back to your surgeon.
Without ovaries, you shouldn't be bleeding from your womb as nothing's happening there- you've no ovaries.

You can bleed from the vagina if it's atrophied (the skin gets thin and can bleed) but you need a gynaecologist to take a look.

Obviously no one here knows why you had surgery and what your medical history is.

Thank you. Got the smear on Tuesday. The bleeding will need to be investigated. The doctor did say what you said about the skin getting thinner. No point in guessing though.
deep down I do think it’s hormonal as I bled all through my kids pregnancies when my periods where meant to be due.
