Coming off HRT

I have had to come off my HRT patches due to bleeding. I’ve had two weeks prior to that of bleeding and had to buy sanitary towels at 54!

I am booked in for a hospital appointment and I thought I would feel awful not being on HRT but so far not too bad.

Have any of you finished with HRT and felt OK or did you find the menopause symptoms eventually come back. I’m not sure when the right time is to finish with it as I may be able to go back into some form of HRT depending on the results of the scan at the hospital

How long have you been off it? I’m younger than you but came off myself in February. It felt great at first, I was so happy thinking everything was behind me. Then night sweats returned, then aching, weak-feeling limbs and tiredness. Then bursting into tears at everything. I’m now back on at the lowest dose. I still have some of these symptoms but tolerable for now.

ps. I had a tonne of bleeding (whilst on HRT) 18 months ago but mercifully all resolved now. I wasn’t told to stop HRT whilst waiting investigation but that may be an age thing re pre/post meno average.
