Could this be perimenopause? I'm only 36

Hi
I'm 37 next month.
Have been off the pill since 34th birthday. Not sure if relevant but DP and I actively tried to conceive for 2 years, nothing. His sperm count is fine.
Last year we've just been "seeing what happens", still nothing.

My periods have been a bit odd since I came off the pill - will have 5 or 6 days of usually brown spotting Then one day of heavy bleeding. I thought they'd get back to normal at first but they didn't.

This month I had 6 days of really light brown spotting, then 3 days of nothing, then one day of heavier bleeding.

I'm going to wait and see what happens in the next month or two before approaching GP but I'm wondering if this could be peri?

No night sweats, some occasional trouble sleeping but nothing too serious.im not under any increased stress.

Thanks x

Hi

I don't think it sounds like perimenopause.

It takes longer to conceive as you get older.

I would go to your GP now. You still have time to sort out IF there is an issue then.

What fertility tests have you already had (as you mentioned his sperm count is fine)?

Do you use ovulation tests?

Do you use a trying to conceive app?

Have either of you got any children already?

I understand a lot about this topic and actually spent more time trying to conceive than trying not to get pregnant.

You are welcome to message me if you prefer.

Good luck. Keep trying!
