So after years of HRT, moods, anxiety and heavy irregular bleeding I picked up my merina coil from the chemist today (the box is high but the pharmacist laughed and said it’s not that big!) I’m very nervous about having something inside my body that I can’t just stop or take out and worry about it getting lost and that’s without getting the thing inserted! Tell me there’s nothing to worry about.

I wish I’d had mine in as soon as I stopped having babies, no more pesky periods

I am on my 2nd one got it inserted a couple of weeks ago first was 5 years ago. As pp said I wish I had it done sooner. I have not had a period in years and I have no issues with it. It can be taken out easily if it doesn't suit you so don't worry. Never heard of it getting lost but speak to the health professional inserting it about your concerns I am sure they can allay your fears
