Water retention/swelling

Hi. I’m 6 weeks into starting HRT (mirena and oestrogel). I’ve noticed that my forearms feel like they’re retaining water. And my wedding rings are tight. Has anybody else experienced this? Is it a side effect that will settle?

Hi. I experienced this with my feet and ankles. After a year of extremely painful plantar fasciitis due to the swelling I finally discovered it went away when I ran out of my oestrogen HRT for a couple of weeks. I was using sandrena gel. I’m now using patches and I’m ok. Just struggling to find a patch that doesn’t irritate my skin and isn’t affected by supplier issues. Anyway it’s worth experimenting with different types of HRT. Although they all contain estradiol it seems that the way your body absorbs it is what makes a difference.
