Hi all,

I believe I've been in peri-menopause for about 3 years now. Periods started coming closer together, were horrendously heavy and I started getting migraines and sleeping badly.

I had an ablation about 18 months ago now, which worked wonders for the bleeding, anemia etc. Subsequently I never really know exactly when my periods start and finish, but I do still have some symptoms and can guess the approximate time.

Over the last few months I’ve had times where I’ve gone dizzy, then really hot and then my heart pounds really fast, in that order lasting only 20 seconds or so. Sometimes afterwards I go really cold. Is this a hot flush? It’s not how I see them regularly portrayed.

Also, if I take my blood pressure around this time, it is high, but then goes down as I start to feel better. None of my friends have anything similar and I’m starting to get a bit concerned about it.

Thank you.

I used to wake up like this at 3am, but I'd be drenched in sweat first.

I had my menopause medically induced, so I knew absolutely what it was. I was shocked to get the cold flushes after the hot ones, nobody mentioned them😁. I actually found them useful as I find I go to sleep easier when I'm a bit cold, so waking with a hot flush was kind of ok, because then I'd get the cold one which would help me get back to sleep
