Mirena for HRT - only symptom being lack of sleep

Been to my GP today to discuss HRT. I don't really have any symptoms other than waking at 3/4 o'clock and not getting back to sleep. My periods are a bit erratic but not an issue.

She has suggested I get the Mirena.

Has anyone tried this for this symptom and found that it has worked?

I didn't try it just for sleep, but it has had a brilliant impact on my sleep. I've never slept so well as since I had the mirena fitteed. Plus I use magnesium glycinate.

The Mirina coil is the progesterone part of HRT. You take oestrogen with it to be full systemic HRT. X

She said not to have the oestrogen unless I feel I need it.

It’s good to hear it may work for sleep. I am a bit rubbish at remembering to take meds so hopefully this will work. I do have lots of Magnesium Glycinate so will take that too.

I’ve had the mirena for over 18 months now.

my sleep is still terrible.

not sure what the answer is. I’m awaiting an appt with consultant to discuss meds

Mirena did nothing for my sleep but was life changing for heavy painful periods. Seems an odd choice by your gp, tbh. It was oestrogen that improved my sleep.
