HRT and heavy periods

I've been on HRT for just over 2 years and steadily increased the dosage and now up to 4 pumps. I have noticed the past 6/8 months my periods are heavier and much more painful. I've never had any problems with my periods and was wondering if anyone else has had simar experiences?

I have been in touch with the gp and have had a uterous scan just waiting for results. I had a scan two years ago and they found very small fibroids 1cm - hoping its just these adding to the period problems and nothing more serious. I'm also on iron tablets but get constipated on these - oh the joys of perimenopause!

My periods got biblical on my first go on HRT, which was also during lockdown and I couldn’t get a GP appointment. Turns out I was ‘overdosing’ on oestrogen. I changed to the gel and cut back my dose dramatically. Much much better now and managing nicely on just one pump a day. I think it can take a while to find your ideal dose. Good luck.

Thankyou I'm going to try and reduce my dose down gradually as I may be over dosing too!
