Has anybody experienced an increase in sinus flare ups in peri? At stages in my cycle I’ve noticed I wake up with puffier under eyes, mucus/bunged up, and tingling/fuzzy nose. It also happens in the evenings.

I do. I've resorted to doing sinus rinses when it's really bad. I tried nasal sprays but they seemed to make it worse for me.

I raised this with my GP who decisively said - no. I saw another GP a while later about something else and I mentioned the sinus/peri link and he said he didn’t know but suggested an oestrogen blood test 🤷🏼‍♀️ I didn’t think testing oestrogen was reliable because it could fluctuate so much ?

Correct! You go by symptoms to confirm perimenopause.

Well they sent me a blood test date so I guess I’ll get it done and see what happens…

Yes! Omg, I constantly have one blocked nostril and sinus pain. I hadn’t linked it to menopause, but it would be the same timeframe. I rinse, I blow, I use steroid spray. Nothing makes any difference.

I read that histamine intolerance is worse in peri menopause. Mine have been awful!

I’ve been struggling with my sinus’s since August. Had no idea it was linked to peri! Been complaining I’ve been feeling like I’m coming down with a cold almost every day for months! Ffs!

I had blood tests when I questioned peri. Apparently it was just to rule out anything else before prescribing HRT. They don’t test for peri anymore as levels fluctuate.
