Feels like period pain but no period

My last period was in August. For this past few weeks I've been getting this discomfort daily but intermittent that feels like period pain but no actual period. It's not painful enough for pain killers, just feels like a mild period pain. Is this normal during menopause?

@teentantrums glad to have no more periods! Have you been spoken to the doctor yet? Are you getting any other symptoms?

@MrsPatrickDempsey I take magnesium for better sleep and restless legs.

Which magnesium do you take? Is the gylcinate best for restless legs and better sleep?

Nets888 · 08/03/2025 19:08

@aliceinawonderland

I bought mine from Amazon. Please see photo. Initially I bought it for palpitations but now use it for better sleep and restless legs. Some nights I still stay awake but it definitely helps with restless legs. My restless legs were quite bad but I'm fine now.

Yes I was having this for a few weeks till recently. Quite strong cramps going down my thighs. I happened to lower my dose of estrogen recently and it seems to have stopped since then - may be completely unrelated.
I'm a few years post meno.

Magnesium supplements give me indigestion after a couple of days - any way round this?

Nets888 · 08/03/2025 20:20

@LemonBossy You can try BetterYou body spray instead of a supplement.

I haven't had a period since September was thinking same peri though had been on the depo injection so wondered if this had affected periods when it ran out in November!

Have same feeling think period is going to happen as mood changes but then it doesn't. Though yearly I do have 2/3 months on no period usually over the summer.

Going to call drs Monday as thinking should find out with way why- only 41 si could be peri etc. or something else!

It was diagnosed as an endometrioma. They measured it, waited a year, scanned it again to make sure it wasn't growing and left it. I can feel it there, and get faint symptoms still.
