Hi all,

Hoping I've posted in the right thread.

Has anyone had a laproscopy, hystoscopy and polyp biopsy all at once?.

Ive had a polyp show up on a scan and concerned now they want to do a biopsy. Is this normal procedure?.

I have also been suffering with pelvic pain and heavy periods hence the other procedures.

Anyone thats had these procedures? What is the approx recovery time?. Im widowed with 2 kids so need to make arrangements for childcare.

Thanks in advance

Hi, yes I've had them all done at once, under general anaesthetic but also had an ovary removed, so that might skew the recovery time a bit. I was off work for 3 weeks.

I'd previously had hysteroscopy, polyp removal and biopsies without a GA and was back at work the following day.

I think it is pretty normal procedure to do a biopsy on polyps, I've had a few removed and never anything to worry about.

Just had a hysteroscopy, polyp removal and a mirena fitted under a GA. Gynae said she could do it under local, but doesn’t recommend.

Discharged same day, told to take the day of procedure and the next day off. Can’t drive or operate machinery (including cooking) for at least 24 hours post surgery, should be ok after that.

Couldn’t leave without someone coming to pick me up, and sent me home with codeine painkillers if needed
