Constipation

The only other time I've had an issue with constipation was when I was pregnant. I was on HRT for a while and suddenly I developed it again. It was so bad that I thought it must be the HRT so I came off it (that wasn't the only reason).

However a few months later it has returned.

I've been monitoring my diet as I had/have high cholesterol and I easily eat 30g of fibre a day, I drink enough, the only thing I'm not doing a huge amount of is exercise as I have long Covid but I am walking a small amount every day.

Is there anything more I can be doing? Anything I can add to my diet? I can't go on like this!

Add in dates & bran flakes every day, that should help

Thanks - ironically adding more fibre just seems to make it worse rather than better

I will try and up my water more and see if that helps. Starting to feel quite desperate as it can't go on!

Try some spine rotations when lying down, they will massage your gut. Also, bizarrely, sitting on the loo with one leg crossed over the other.

Thanks I will give this a go. What is odd is that it only seems to be sporadic constipation. I'll have it terribly for a week then I won't get it for another month. I wish I could figure out what was triggering it!

Watching this with interest as I'm having the same issue. Peri menopausal and fibre seems to make the sporadic constipation worse! Although sometimes I am perfectly fine!
