Postmenopausal symptoms

Hi guys....at 64 I thought I'd be over the menopause! However my body feels like it's breaking down due to all sorts of symptoms. Chronic fatigue, no energy, no motivation, feeling sad, heart races, feel faint, weakness, tremor .......
I feel like I'm going to die!
Anyone else suffering like this or been through this ?

You're possibly outside the age range of most posters here, although I'm in my 60s and on HRT (but started it in my 50s.)

There is no need to suffer. I've been told by my consultant that there are women far older than you who start HRT (usually privately as GPs aren't always too keen!)

You could start with your GP and ask for HRT but if they don't agree, or don't feel confident about prescribing, you'll have to find a private doctor- there are plenty around.

You'd start on a low dose and it would be patches or gel as these have no added risk of blood clots and are given to any woman over 60 on HRT.

I'm currently experiencing exactly those symptoms including chills and va symptoms. I'm almost 60 and started hrt in April, I'm going to try upping my dose to see if that helps. I am well into menopause and thought I was finished with it, but it seems not.

Please don’t assume menopause - there are plenty of other issues which could be causing those kind of symptoms - GP and blood tests would be my first call . Good luck

Have you been for bloods etc? I'm having deeper bloods done soon as part of an exclusion thing but by the sounds of it you can still get symptoms!! Yes va symptoms!

Ive had all bloods done, ECG's, heart monitor, you name it. GP still insists my symptoms are of depression but doesn't understand that I feel depressed because I feel so ill! So round I go again!

I had blood tests about 3 weeks ago, apparently all satisfactory, but I did notice that my lymphocytes were below the reference level. Wasn't mentioned though.
