Hi,
I'm going through perimenopause symtoms, rage, feeling down, joint pain, hair loss, weight gain, skin changes, sleep issues, urine leaks, brain fog but no hot flushes and still have regular periods, although they have got heavier. Thedoctor has prescribed evorel sequi 50. I've not started taking it yet because I'm a bit scared. I've literally got a two day window before I start it before I'll have to wait another month. Anyway I was after a bit of advice, firstly has anyone cut this particular brand in half to start off - is this recommended at all? Or should I just go the full hog?
Secondly, because I'm still having regular periods, if this doesn't suit me and I stop taking it, will my cycle be really all over the place, I'm really apprehensive but I'm really conscious at the sane time that I need to do something About my mood swings and behaviour in particular.
Thanks

No help with the patches as I’m on gel ( much easier to manage the dose IMO) but I recognise being scared, I was too. So I had a word with myself and agreed to a 6 month trial, and I never came off it. Go for it!

I'm on the patches. I was really scared too, but did the same as @DustyLee123 and decided to give it 6 months. Has been 18 months now and HRT has changed my life. I decided the side effects were unlikely to be worse than how I was feeling at the time.
I take Progesterone too (every 14 days).

Thankyou both, I think I just need to bite the bullet

Oh well I've done it... I put it on my thigh so fingers crossed 🤞
It doesn't feel as sticky as I thought it would though, do they come off when they shouldn't often? Where's the best place to stick it?

I put off hrt for a good couple of years and wouldn’t go back! I put it on my hip, at the front under my knickers, just above where my leg crease to my torso if that makes sense.

Doggymummar · 16/02/2025 09:49

K out mine on my shoulder blade, it's the place with least chance of getting nudged. But in three years I've never had one come off, unless it just didn't stick immediately due to body cream, or I had a bad batch one time where the whole lot wouldn't stick. Try to reorder a month in advance if you remember as they are often out of stock.

Thanks I put mine on the outer thigh but will see where works best over the next few patches

I stick tattoo film over mine. They don't budge then and I get the full dose. I found they were always lifting at the edges. Been on them 2yrs.

I use the front of my thigh then the outer thigh, repeat on the other leg.

This exactly.

Just go for it and reassess in 4-6m. HRT is not a magic bullet that will transform you overnight. It can take a few months to work out the dosage and formulation that works best for you, but dear god it IS a magic bullet once you've got it working well.

Hi @Doggymummar When I was on patches the instructions stated they must be worn on the lower half of the body. Perhaps they differ, but I just thought it might be worth mentioning!
