Hi everyone,
Does anyone know when (if) Estradot 50mg patches might be available?
I ran out a month ago now. My pharmacy have offered me Evorel but I’ve used those patches in the past and they haven’t suited me.
I am now experiencing the return of the horrible night sweats and feeling a bit low. I’m absolutely fine when I’m on Estradot. Thankyou 💕

I don't know about Estradot 50, however Estradot 100 is due to be with the suppliers this week, where it will then go on to the wholesalers and then distributed to pharmacies. If your pharmacy gets some of these in you could request your prescription be changed (unless the pharmacy can offer these under the current SSP (serious shortage protocol) which can be cut in half. You could also shop around to other pharmacies/chains

When I was taking HRT in the past I didn't have a problem with Evorel other than the adhesive where steps can be taken to reduce the irritation. There is also Estraderm (some women find they don't stick)

Thankyou so much for your reply. Very helpful. I will check with my pharmacy regarding Estradot 100mg and phone a few other pharmacies. 💕

Very helpful info, thanks!

What steps can be taken to reduce irritation from Evorel adhesive?

Suggestions are:

  1. to stick on in a different place with less sensitive skin eg bum or upper thighs instead of lower stomach,
  2. wave the new patch in the air for a few seconds after removing the backing prior to applying - apparently there is an alcohol preservative on the patch and allowing this to evaporate prior to sticking can reduce the local reaction
  3. use a steroid nasal spray, such as Beconase which can be bought over the counter. Apply a puff to the skin, allow to dry and then apply your patch.

Also don't use a finger nail to remove the residue after removing a patch - I found it took my skin off too. I used baby oil on cotton wool to soften and remove it.

I have struggled to get 50mg estradot for months now. Since they have been out of stock I have got estramon and estradiol both have worked fine. I also did not take to evorel couldn't get patch to stick at all so maybe these two are a better option when estradot is out of stock

Thankyou so much, that’s very helpful. I’ll look into the options 💕
