Is loss of appetite a peri menopause symptom?

I’m 45, peri menopausal, I think, as I’m having quite a few symptoms like changes to cycle length, flushes, brain fog. disturbed sleep etc.

I’m otherwise fit and healthy, have always eaten a good diet, but for the last year or so my appetite has decreased to the point now that I very rarely feel hungry and I’m not enjoying food. I’m eating as I know I need to and I exercise a few times a week so I need the energy, but I just never really actually feel hungry anymore. I’ve lost a few pounds, but I was a healthy weight before and I’m still a healthy weight. I did speak to my GP about it last year but they just said it can be part of menopause and didn’t seem to think it was cause for concern.

Did you experience lack of appetite? Would you be concerned and ask the GP again?

I should have mentioned that my GP did run some bloods, a full blood count, iron levels, thyroid, not sure what else but said all was fine.

Yes. I'm 5 years post menopause now and my appetite is significantly less. Tastes have changed too in that I'm off bland and sweet things. It's helped me lose 3.5 stones, which is great, but I get no real enjoyment from food anymore. All my other post-meno friends seem to be the opposite though!

Yes, I posted about this last year. I lost 10 lb in a couple of months. Weight seems to be creeping back on again, not hunger, but a desire to taste/chew or something. Ie a mouth/brain type feeling. I should probably eat more fruit!
