Problems Keeping evorel patches stuck to my skin

Due to yet another estradot shortage I’m having to use evorel because that’s all the chemist has in. I’ve moved from 50-75 microgram patches and they’re huge. I struggle to keep the tiny estradot ones attached I’ve no idea how I’m going to keep the giant evorel ones on. They’re like ten times the size. I tried tegaderm dressings over the top previously but they didn’t help. I’ve tried the hairdryer trick, I’ve shaved the skin of all hair. I have lipodema so my legs are larger than the rest of me and despite having lots of fleshy areas to stick the patches, trousers rub and cause curling of edges etc.

i didn’t get on with the gel at all and I don’t want to take the pill version. When I can get estradot all is well.

How do others keep their patches on? Especially keen to hear from larger women because the only people I know irl on HRT patches are all very slim and don’t seem to have a problem with the patches coming away.

Following as mine come off too!

I've used both over the past few years and the estradot ones are rubbish at staying on compared with the everol ones. I swim almost daily but the everol literally never fall off.

DoItBetter · 04/02/2025 02:39

I don't do anything in particular before I put the everol patches on apart from a shower and dry. I put them at the top of my bum. I don't know how they stick on so well but they do. I think they are miraculous.

Same as @trunkkumbee, I swab the skin with alcohol first.

I had a couple that didn't stick on at all but the rest stick on the whole time till they need changing after a few days

I put them on my thigh facing forwards.

It's the best spot for me as I sleep on my side and they rub there the least

I have very smooth skin though and very fine hair so it sticks on well. I apply them after an evening shower usually but not always and it makes no difference

I'm definitely not slim size 16/18

Curious how small your original patches are if you think Evorel are 'huge'.

I also don't have any problems with them staying on despite swimming and not being slim. I put on the fleshy parts of my hips or bum generally.

I hated Evorel! They are massive. I now use Estrodot and they have never fallen off me. I put them on my abdomen and when I apply them I press down with my hand for a full 30 seconds. I think this may heat it up a little so the adhesive sticks better. I need to really brace to peel them off after 3 days as they stick so hard.

I've never had a problem with Evorel. I out them on my bottom, I lean forward slightly so the skin is taut and there are no skin wrinkles underneath.

My bottom has very dry skin and I don't moisturise so maybe that helps?

I have 100mcg patch - if you think 75 are big, you should see mine 😂

I couldn't get evorel patches to stick on my thighs but they are fine on my bum (just behind my hip). They stick so well I have to ask someone else to rip them off for me as I am a wimp!
