Research into effects of HRT on the liver

Hello Mumsnetters,

We are looking for participants for a menopause research study in Oxford.

This is a new area of research in the team I work with, and I am passionate about supporting this work. As a Research Nurse I have lost count of the number of friends, acquaintances and participants who have asked why there isn't more research into the questions we all have about the menopause. Research that will, hopefully, guide our decisions about taking HRT, and also help us manage the associated symptoms.

I'm also 51 years old and perimenopausal. I used to be a prolific user of Mumsnet years ago, posting as Mrs Doolittle. I joined when I became pregnant with my first child and continued up until I returned to full-time work when my children started school. At the time the forum was, literally, a life saver.

Now, I'm hitting the menopause and incredibly conscious of the fact we have very little research available for menopausal women. I am very keen to encourage my research team to research this area of need.

Our study is here

This is an opportunity for us to support our researchers to help answer those, sometimes desperate, questions.
