Hi everyone so IV been thinking for awhile iam perimenapausal, I'm 41 so it's on the cards anytime soon anyway, but honestly I would rather it be menopause than what iam thinking in my head what is wrong with me,sore boobs, headaches, lethargic, loads of other things,so eventually gave in and bought a menopause test kit,it's by flourish and the positive line has to be darker than the control panel one,can see them both but the positive line is thinner but alot darker, anyone else had one and had this,I would be happy it is menopause tho as I say IV worried myself sick thinking the worst thing especially due to pain in boob, been to docs about that and she said it will be fine but wouldn't listen to me about anything else as she liked to point out it's 1 thing per appointment,I won't say what I said to her but I ended up walking out as I was so angry, how does she know it's not perimenapause without hearing my other symptoms it's stupid,so the bigger window is the positive side the smaller is the control window, any suggestions would be very welcome, thanks to anyone who replys

I’ve just googled that test kit and it says that home FSH test kits are not accurate and not recommended.

Are you worried that you might be pregnant? If so, do a home pregnancy test. Otherwise perhaps go to your local chemist and ask to speak to the pharmacist and see what they advise.

Hi no not thinking I'm pregnant,IV got the coil fitted I have 5 kids Defo can't have anymore or I'd be a walking zombie lol,if I'm honest I want it to be perimenapause coz what I'm thinking it is is cancer in all parts of my body, had a pain in my right boob for weeks now and docs ain't even bothered unless there's a lump aswel, tried to tell her my other millions of symptoms and told me to tell her just one, which to me my boob was more scary as Thort It was cancer, I still do coz of the back aches IV got and stuff, but then when I Google perimenapause I have all the symptoms of it so thort I'd do menopause test,IV googled it too now and even says blood work ain't accurate for it either,I'm sick of worrying about my health,my youngest 2 kids are disabled one has severe autism and my other has hydrocephalus so I'm worrying about leaving them with no mother, then there's my other kids that it will affect,my head's going crazy with thoughts o hate it

Go back to your GP and say you want to discuss peri menopause. Take a list of your symptoms.

The tests you bought is useless- they are a con.

I did the same test last year as I thought I also might be in peri. I was 41 as well. It was positive like yours. Thought about and realised that I had quite a few symptoms anyway (erratic periods, rage, aching joints). Went to gp who immediately agreed to a trial of hrt. Within days I felt much better, less anxious, sleeping better, aches had gone. I'm now a year in and still feeling great, so speak to your gp because it's worth a try at least

It did help that my dr was really helpful, it doesn't sound like yours is as happy to consider peri. Don't give up though because I've gone from bursting into tears when my puppy wouldn't sit at dog training Blush to being able to take part in a marathon later this year. I'm a carer for my three SEN kids so I can relate, and I just wasn't able to support them properly before this. Good luck.
