Very painful breastfeeding pain and bloating at end of period?

I'm 49. 2 months since last period. Coming to the end of period, and have swollen, heavy, painful breasts. Is this normal, as usually symptoms have eased off. What might help? Not on HRT.

This was the main symptom I had at the start of pregnancy - could that be a possibility? I also had it around menopause when I drank too much caffeine - could that apply to you?

It's very likely a symptom of progesterone. If you're no longer producing oestrogen, you'll feel the progesterone effects more.

Have you discussed HRT with your GP?

No not discussed with gp. Definitely not pregnant.
