I usually take 200mg two weeks on, two weeks off and have been for a couple of years. Everything was working well. But somehow over Christmas I seem to have completely forgotten where I was in my cycle and realised tonight I haven't been taking it for the last week when I should have been. I should be half way through my two weeks. I think maybe I went wrong over Christmas and got my weeks out of sync, so at some point only went one week without instead of two....I can't be sure though, it could be that I only took it for one week instead as if two. But the issue is, what do I do now? I've just taken a dose tonight, but do I need to speak to my GP? It was all working so well I'm worried I might have messed things up!

Relax! So long as you take approximately 100mcg a day or at least 24 ish capsules every month (averaged out over a few months) its all good, you are counteracting the oestrogen effects. You might get some irregular bleeds spotting if you get very out of synch with your natural cycle fluctuations but they will settle. If you are struggling to remember consider asking for combi or sequential patches xx

I agree with PP.

It's not really an issue.

Some of us do longer cycles anyway (with medical supervision only!) so going an extra few days between isn't an issue at all.

And for information, there is a type of HRT where the progesterone is only every 10th week out of 12. It' s called Tridestra.

Thank you both. I did panic a bit, I felt so awful before everything settled down I really didn't want to have messed it up!
