Bleeding?

Had my menopause at 50, all done by about 51. Went from periods every 28 days to none pretty much overnight. No hot sweats or other major symptoms, except really shit sleep. I'm now 58.

Started reading up on HRT and sleep and thought I'd try HRT. Been on it for about 4 months now. Progesterone and about 2 or 3 pumps of the estrogen gel.

Last 6 weeks I've had bleeding on and off and I'm wondering if I just need to stop the HRT. No other symptoms or benefits other than fantastically better sleep.

I'm now wondering if it's got anything to do with the weight loss drugs I've been on for the past 2 months?

Has anyone else had this? I

You need to speak to your GP and get things checked out x

I had a call with them last week, the bleeding has stopped and they suggested waiting another month and seeing what happens.

Think I need to get back on to them.

Bleeding on combined continuous HRT is expected in the first 6 months
https://www.menopausematters.co.uk/postmeno.php

POST MENOPAUSAL -
Continuous combined therapies.
"Period free" or continuous combined therapy can be used by women who are 54 + yrs, or more than one year since last period at any age. The criteria should be fulfilled in order to offer such treatment to women who no longer have a continuing ovarian cycle, so that steady levels of both estrogen and progestogen can be achieved. When there are steady levels of estrogen and progestogen from daily administration of both, the womb lining stays thin.

Although some bleeding in the first 6 months of therapy is common, there should not be bleeding after that and the lining does not go through the stages of stimulation and then shedding as it does during a normal cycle and with sequential therapy.

It only needs investigation if it continues longer than 6 months

This bleeding is not classed as 'post meno bleeding' in women not using hrt (which does need investigating.)
