Think I am entering peri menopause with high anxiety as a symptom. Talking to my partner about it two nights ago and he makes a joke about it.

Spoke to a friend today who is having the same symptoms and told him that its made me think I should go to the doctor. He makes another joke

I ask him calmly and politely not to do that, that menopause is going to go on for a long time and I'm likely to have some rubbish times with it, so he can please not joke about it. He walks off, whining about me complaining.

He's not normally so grim and unhelpful. What the fuck is this?

Ugh he’s pathetic. My ex used to make shitty misogynistic ‘jokes’ about PMT and once I started experiencing peri symptoms I knew he’d be a knob about that too.

The end of our 10 year relationship came about after yet another pathetic joke about the time of the month when I lost my shit, told him that joking about a time of my life that’s causing me stress, anxiety and physical symptoms just made him a misogynistic prick, that I was adjusting my HRT to try and help myself, despite the fact that HRT caused the cancer that killed my mum, and then finally told him to fuck off. Sexist twat.

Your man needs a bit of respect and understanding that this is a hard time for us, emotionally as well as physically. And if he can’t be supportive then he’s of no use.
