Would localised hrt help bladder symptoms

I've been on hrt 5 and a half yrs.
I tried to ease off it last summer but my constant peeing started up again.
Anyone had more localised hrt like vagifem for this issue.
I'm keen to get off progesterone as I know it makes me feel low.
I've always known this but needed hot flush and anxiety relief.

Vagifem has definitely helped me with this. (Positive effect on oestrogen receptors in bladder wall I think?).

If I forget to use the maintenance dose of twice weekly - the problem soon recurs. My incentive to carry on.

So do you need to take progesterone?
I'm 58 so post menopause.

Seconding Vagifem [this still wins my award for all-time most awful cringe medicine name].
I had such bad bladder problems I was sent for a cystoscopy but Vagifem solved the issues entirely if I remember to use it regularly, as above poster says 😊

You can use localised oestrogen without any progesterone, OP, as long as you're not on any other oestrogen. What dose is your oestrogen? I find that if my oestrogen is high enough it's not as hard to cope with progesterone.

Thank you both.I will contact GP to ask for it.
The name is dreadful I agree.😂

APileofballyhoo you have a fair point.
When I started yrs ago I felt a black cloud over me.
I do have lots of energy yet I feel like my sense of humour has gone.
Currently one 2 pumps of oestrogel however I've been on 4 pumps per day before.

Vagifem has done nothing to help my overactive bladder. Same as solefenacin.

Dont know where to go next.

Would Gina Vaginal Oestrogen be suitable? It's a small tablet pessary. I get it prescribed from an online pharmacy. All the contraindications are listed here but it is also supposed to help overactive bladder I believe www.boots.com/gina-10micrograms-vaginal-tablets-10321614?srsltid=AfmBOorpDWNWuTHyCWVUsp99b9Oy97TFXP5IV4R1h7gS5n6NmyYT-wyr

I have heard it described by a doctor on a comedy programme as rejuvenating the vagina.

Thanks for the link.
No one mentioned bladder issues however surely it helps with the bladder lining.

Hi @whatisforteamum

Did you get any further on? I'm just starting with constantly needing to wee. I've been on HRT since September last year, and about 18 months post meno. This is the worst yet. I can't sleep because my bladder is constantly niggling.

I stopped taking the pessaries but started again a few days ago, no joy yet.

Just wondered how you are now?
