High blood pressure and HRT?

Has anyone been prescribed HRT with (medicated) high BP?

I'm 46 and struggling with insomnia, vaginal dryness, sweats and brain fog. Not had a period for 4 months, before that was 3 months. Used to be every 28 days on the dot.

I've known 2 friends refused HRT due to BP. I absolutely hate going to the GP and know if I ramp myself up to go to ask and can't get it I'll be gutted.

Yes I have. Was on BP meds 2 years before starting HRT.

Still on both meds now.

Is your BP stable? If not the GP wil most likely want this stabilising before prescribed hrt

I've been on candesartan for years and HRT for the last two. The nhs gynae has never asked about my BP once - although the GP does keep an eye on it, but I think that's just in general.

I've not had my BP checked for ages - must go soon!

I'm on anlodopeine and lisinopril.

I should just go - I'm a confident professional but I turn into an idiot at the GP. I go in feeling anxious that they're just going to put everything down to my weight (I'm a size 16 but surprisingly heavy with it and they always express shock and then I get a lecture - well deserved but I hate it so the shame stops me going....)

Get it checked at a local pharmacy for free especially if over 40!

I'm on lisinopril too. Size 12 but short. I get 'the lecture' too. It must be a script they read from 😂
