4am wakeups and HRT

I’m perimenopausal, age 44, and have routinely been waking from around 4-5:30am, then falling back to sleep for a bit. I wake up knackered. Did HRT help you sleep through the night / wake up more refreshed?

I've been on HRT for about 12 years now and still wake up for a pee around 2am and 5am.

Once I got on the right dose of HRT I slept so much better.
Definitely worth a try

One of the biggest benefits for me was improved sleep. Nightly 4-4.30 wake ups are almost gone. I might have it a couple of nights every few months but only if I am particularly stressed or over tired. I use the Lenzetto spray.

It's the only reason I'm on HRT. I no longer have 4am wake ups!

HRT has definitely helped my sleep, I actually had a lie in this morning! Been on it a month, I was totally exhausted, feel so much better.

Yes definitely! Occasionally wake up but almost always go straight back to sleep and it is now unusual for me not to sleep straight through.

I take Magnesium at night, practice a bit of meditation, when I get time, also write in a journal. It seems to work mostly.

No it’s done nothing for my sleep, sadly, nor for anxiety which along with sleep was the reason I wanted to try it. I’m currently on 100mg patches but about to start reducing to gradually stop as I don’t think it’s for me. Been on HRT for 3.5 years, am 57. Hope you have more success than I’ve had xx

It helps. My sleep has always been shit so I think there are other things going on for me. However in Peri it became much worse - I would sleep for about half an hour to an hour at a time. Then be awake for hours from 4am. I could not go on like that.

So now I still wake a few times, probably less. The main difference is that I feel calm when I wake up and I normally get back to sleep reasonably quickly. So there has been an improvement. I don’t think I’ve ever been the type to sleep all the way through the night!
