Spotting again on Mirena

I had my coil in for heavy periods about 3/4 years ago. Had spotting for 7 months before it settled, then had a bigger bleed, scan showed coil had moved but back in place by the time I had the hysteroscopy.
In August I had a scan because I’d had more bleeding but it was clear, but before Xmas the GP wanted to see me in relation to the bleeding and HRT. I asked if I really needed seeing as the scan was clear, then heard no more.
This Xmas I’ve had more spotting, so I’m going to have to see the GP but what next. I think the next thing would be ablation but I’m not up for that. I don’t want it doing in clinic, and neither do I want a GA. I’m thinking of just having the coil out and putting up with periods again as I’m 54 now, so can’t have much longer surely?

I’m 58 and had to have my first ever Mirena in September to try and control my bleeding. It seems to be settling finally - had some some spotting over Christmas but GP thinks that whilever I’m on HRT, spotting may be inevitable for me.

58 and still bleeding? Poor you!
A gynae consultant told me it would all be over by the time I’m 55. I told him that I wouldn’t be so sure!
