I have been on evorel 50 and utrogestan 200mg (14 days) for just under 6 months. I’ve just had my evorel patch dose increased to 75 because I’m still getting hot flushes. I’ve noticed that my boobs have gotten bigger, has anyone else experienced this? I haven’t gained weight elsewhere. I’m not sure how worried to be, if it’s potentially a sign I’m getting too much oestrogen?! I’m 44 and peri menopausal

Yes, mine felt swollen when I first went on the gel. They settled down.

I got this after quite a while being stable on it, and wondered if I should reduce the dose, but when I do I get all the issues back so I haven't. I couldn't find any info at all about whether too much is a problem and GP and a breast clinic specialist I saw (for a different issue that I got the all clear for) didn't have any advice on it.

Exactly this, I went back to my Gp after having those symptoms for over a year and she said I was oestrogen dominant (too much oestrogen in the body and it can't flush the excess away naturally) and reduced me back to 50.

I also started to gain quite a lot of weight round my middle, which is another classic oestrogen dominance sign. Darn menopause!

I thought weight gain around the middle was due to low oestrogen?

Thanks everyone, hopefully it will settle down but if not I might ask about dropping down again. Although I’d hate for the hot flushes to come back with a vengeance! It’s a balancing act

Belly fat is a sign of low estrogen. That's why women's fat distribution changes to the midsection at menopause.

Yes. I was on the 50 patch for about 2 years, then the flushes and palpitations came back with a vengeance.

I went up to 75 which solved the issues, but after a year I felt my boobs were so big and uncomfortable with no signs of them shrinking so I went back down to 50. My boobs immediately felt less swollen and I felt OK for a while.

Now 9 months on and the flushes and palpitations have come back again. 🤦🏻‍♀️ So 3 weeks ago I went up to 75 patch.

I'm 48 and have figured there might be a bit of changing between the two depending on my own hormone levels. My GP agreed for me to have boxes of both patches so I can tweak things myself.

@burntheleaves if you Google oestrogen dominance, belly fat is also a symptom
