Did HRT affect marriage

I have been on HRT since July
Feeling much better / hadn't really realised how ill I had felt and for how long
Has anyone felt like they have woken up in their marriage
I have been married 25 years and just feel like I am not certain I feel the same way about him

I went on it at the same time as a lot of other things happened - but I would say it has improved some aspects as I had some very strong emotional reactions (fury, tears etc) to minor things and now it’s a bit calmer.

I think menopause opens our eyes. The cuddly oestrogen hormone seems to let us put up with/not see lots of less than perfect situations to keep the family together while children are small, but when the level of oestrogen drops, so do the rose tinted glasses.

Big change in marital relationships is intimacy. I'm not that active but we can do at least 8 or 10 times a month. Now it has become a trickle.

This happened to me. I had the waking up one day moment with realisations that I wasn't in a happy relationship. It was a shock. The rose tinted glasses fell off and I'm feeling uncomfortable with what I'm now left with and all that I have to process.

You are not alone.
