Period Pains

Hi,

I'm 52 and my periods are still very regular, however this month its nearly 2 weeks late, due to my age obviously I'm not surprised, glad actually that a change seems to be happening!

But I've been having the worst period pains for the last 2 weeks, is this a thing? Period pains but no actual period? Every time I go to the loo I'm surprised its not arrived.

Hi @Bettycha

Yes this is what happens for me.

All the symptoms of a period arriving and all the sensations then nothing!

Do you have any other Perimenopause symptoms?

Bettycha · 16/12/2024 16:01

Thanks for replying, Im not sure to be honest, a bit of a loss of sex drive and moody but then again I can be like this normally!!

So would yours just be a late period or just missed all together?

Both - missed and late. I'm at 26-36 day cycles now but I've haven't had a period for 80-101 days previously. Then, bang they go reasonably regular again as though it's a last hurrah!

Not complaining about that though as my period flow was extremely heavy after the long stints without one.

I'm hoping they will just naturally lessen actually.

A work colleague had no peri symptoms whatsoever and her periods just abruptly stopped. She says she feels great and she's not on HRT or any supplements.

I have a list of peri symptoms though - but then again I they could all be age related symptoms too.

New one for this year is eyesight deterioration but again peri or age? Who knows.

Just glad to be alive!

Yep. Pain all month, even when I missed a period.

Yes I have this OP, an almost scratchy feeling period pains too, this month I’ve had continuous breast pain at the same time. I went from 28 days clockwork to two weeks over and then back again, have completely lost track now, but using period pains as a rough guide.
