HRT pill or gel - what's your experience?

Hello,

I'm 33 with early menopause. I have been on the HRT pill for about 6 weeks but haven't had much improvement. I've been switched to the gel. Does anyone have positive stories of switching and/or being on the gel as opposed to the pill?

Thank you!

Are you being treated by a specialist for POI?

The usual guidance is to allow 3 months so I'm assuming there is a reason for the change so soon.

Without knowing what dose you're on, o which brand, it's hard to comment.
POI is different to women using HRT in their 40s/50s and older.
In general, tablet form can give less than the actual dose because some can be lost in digestion.

With gel it's possible to go up to 3mgs a day whereas there are no tablets for that- they stop at 2mgs.

Some women also use a form of the Pill - Zoely or Qlaira for prem. menopause.

Your doctor should have talked all of this through with you - did they?
