Peri Period Weirdness

I shall caveat this by saying I do have a GP’s appointment but they cannot see me for 4 weeks. TMI warning.

I am 47. I have PCOS so very irregular cycle anyway, I cannot tell from that alone if I am in perimenopause but my age suggests I probably am. Two weeks ago I must’ve ovulated as I had ovary pain radiating down my right leg all day. It stopped and not long after I had some pink spotting, tinged with bright red blood. Typical of ovulation bleed for when I do ovulate.

On Monday afternoon I started cramping and bleeding heavily with no prior warning. I usually get some spotting. I was passing heavy bright red blood with small clots for the first hour, then I had an urgent need to rush to the toilet as I felt like a load of jelly / clots was coming away. Didn’t see what passed as it all fell into the toilet and the water was bright red. However, from the volume I felt pass I wondered if it was a desigual cast.

After that point, I passed one my small clot and since then bleeding turned to spotting and now has gone. It is as if I had a heavy period in the space of a few hours and it has disappeared. This happened to me once before, but I had forgotten about it until today.

I can’t find much about it online, and whilst I’m waiting for the GP, does anyone have any similar experience in the peri or menopause years? To go from such heavy bleeding to nothing in a short space of time has me concerned. Recent smear normal. No diagnosis of endo or fibroids etc just PCOS with very irregular periods. Last one was 100 days ago

Decidual cast. Damn autocorrect. No designer vaginas here! 🤣

Yes, I had this happen. If the lining is too heavy it will literally fall out of you in one foul swoosh. Not fun.

It’s horrible isn’t it. Very lucky I was home as there was little warning. Now it is like it didn’t happen at all.

Several days on and it is as if it never happened. No more bleeding or spotting. Bizarre.
