Starting HRT patches

Hi, looking for some advice as I was prescribed these and told to start on the first day of my next period (which should have been over a week away), but it started yesterday before I could collect the prescription.

Would I be OK to start them on Monday, when I pick up the prescription do you think, or would I need to wait for my next period?

Thanks

What have you been prescribed? And Sequential or continuous?

If you have a Mirena and now have estrogen patches, just crack on.

If you have estrogen patches + utrogestan tablets taken sequentially, most people bleed at the end of their 12 or 14 day window of taking progesterone tablets, so you could start estrogen now and in two weeks start progesterone which would mean you’d have your next bleed at about the same time of the month. The HRT will override your natural cycle in time in any case.

And if you have combined patches, I’d also just crack on.
If you haven’t already!!

I have combined patches, 14 days of one, then 14 days of the other. Sequi? I don’t stress about an extra day or two if I miss one tbh and I’ve never had any issues two years in.

Thanks for the replies. It's combined patches. I called the surgery in the end and they advised me to wait... Which is a bit annoying when my cycle is so unpredictable!

I use Evorel patches and you can start anytime, same with Utogestan, I do the first 12 days of the month for ease. Patches wednesday and Sunday
